Consulting

Consulting team gamification for time logged on the day it was worked.

Novigem scores the time entries, project notes and presales hours your consultants already record in Salesforce. Set the bar, such as a written description on the day of the work, and points land when the record saves. Practice leaderboards and badges make careful logging visible.

01 · The problem

The work happened on Tuesday. It was logged on Friday.

A services firm sells hours and delivers projects, and both are only as good as what consultants write down. When logging waits for the end of the week, every report built on it inherits the guesswork.

01

The timesheet is written on Friday

Monday's workshop and Wednesday's config session get typed in at the end of the week, from memory and a calendar. The hours come out round, the descriptions come out as “Client work”, and some hours never come out at all.

02

Presales hours vanish

The discovery calls, the demo build and the proposal review happen before there is a project to book them on. Nobody logs them against the opportunity, so nobody can say whether the deal was worth the investment.

03

Project notes live in heads

Status, risks and the next step agreed with the client sit with the consultant who was in the room. The project record says what the plan was three weeks ago.

04

Careful logging goes unseen

Utilisation and margin reports are built on whatever made it into the timesheet. The consultant who logs every hour properly looks the same as the one who does not, and the big project gets the attention.

02 · What changes

Reward the hour logged on the day it was worked.

Novigem runs inside Salesforce and scores each time entry when the consultant saves it. Set the bar once: dated today, a description of at least 10 words, presales hours on the opportunity. The Friday pile earns nothing, so the week fills in as it happens.

Illustration of one consultant's week of 40 hours. Logged on Friday afternoon from memory, 34 hours reach the timesheet, none of the 5 presales hours are recorded against the opportunity, and the two-word descriptions earn no points. Logged on the day, all 40 hours are recorded each evening with a written description, the presales hours land on the opportunity, and the week earns 140 points.

03 · What you get

Rules on the time entries, projects and deals you already run.

Five rules a services firm often starts with. Every condition is a field on the record, and a quick save with nothing in it earns nothing.

Rules on your own time and project objects
Time Entry, Timecard, Project or Assignment, whether they are custom objects or come with the PSA you run on Salesforce. Every condition is a field on the record your consultants already save.
A bar for what counts as logged
A description of at least 10 words, a date of today, an opportunity on the entry. Eight hours of “Client work” typed in on Friday earns nothing.
Leaderboards and challenges per practice
Scope a rule, challenge or leaderboard to one practice, so the integration team is ranked against itself. Run a monthly practice challenge with a goal pace, or a head-to-head battle between two practices on the same rule.
Team Pulse and a next best action
Practice leads see engagement, goal pace and last activity per consultant, needs-attention first. Each consultant gets one suggestion on their home page, such as a rule teammates earn from that they have not touched in 28 days.

Setup: Opportunity, Task and Event score out of the box. Register your Time Entry, Timecard or Project object in Novigem Admin and add one record-triggered Flow that calls the packaged Evaluate Record with Novigem action. No Apex, and everything still runs inside your org.

04 · For the consultant

A practice leaderboard where careful logging counts.

The big project already gets noticed. Novigem makes the steady habit visible too: the entry written up before going home, the presales call logged on the deal, the project note the next consultant can pick up.

  • Practice challenges with a goal pace, and battles between two practices
  • Badges from the Badge Builder for complete weeks, collected on each profile

  • Personal bests, so every consultant has their own number to beat
  • Wins announced in Chatter, and on an office TV with the Novigem Wallboard
05 · Impact

Measured on your own timesheets, in six weeks.

The pilot takes a baseline from your org before the first challenge starts and compares at week six. These are the numbers a services pilot usually tracks.

  1. 01

Time entries logged on the day

Share of time entries whose work date equals the day they were created

  2. 02

    Presales hours recorded against opportunities

Hours on time entries with an opportunity filled in, per open opportunity

  3. 03

Time entries with a written description

Share of time entries with a description above your word threshold

  4. 04

Project updates with a written note

Active projects whose status note changed in the period and is above your word threshold

You only pay if you continue after week six. Start a pilot

Fit

Is Novigem right for your services firm?

Good fit if
  • Consultancies, implementation partners and agencies that track time and projects in Salesforce
  • Firms that spend presales effort on deals and want to see it on the opportunity
  • Practice leads who chase timesheets on Monday morning and would rather not
Not ideal if
  • Firms whose time tracking lives in a separate tool that never writes back to Salesforce
  • Teams looking for a timesheet or resource planning tool. Novigem scores the logging; it does not replace your time objects
  • Firms of fewer than five consultants, where a shared list does the job
FAQ

Questions from professional services firms

We track time in a PSA on Salesforce. Does Novigem work with it?
Yes, if the time entries and projects are Salesforce records. Register the Time Entry, Timecard or Project object once in Novigem Admin and add one record-triggered Flow that calls the packaged Evaluate Record with Novigem action. No Apex, and the engine runs inside your org. Opportunity, Task and Event score out of the box.
Our timesheet is one weekly record, not daily entries. Can it still reward logging on time?
Rules score each save of the record, so score what the weekly record holds. For example: status changed to Submitted with the week-end date equal to today, so the timecard goes in on the Friday rather than the Monday after. Daily entries give you the finer rule, logged on the day of the work.
Who gets the points for a time entry?
You choose per rule: the Record Owner, Created By or Last Modified By. If time entries are created by the consultant but owned by a resource manager or an integration user, award the points to Created By.
Will consultants pad descriptions to collect points?
A rule can require a minimum word count, a date of today or an opportunity on the entry, so a bare entry earns nothing. The Rule Simulator shows an admin exactly why a record did or did not score, and practice leads still read what is written.
Does it rank consultants on billable hours?
Only if you build a rule for it, and we would not start there. The rules on this page reward the logging itself, so the consultant on a small internal project can lead the practice leaderboard as easily as the one on the biggest account.
Is pricing different for professional services firms?
No. The same plans apply: EUR 399/month for 5 to 15 users and EUR 699/month for 16 to 30, with a 6-week pilot where you only pay if you continue.
